The Oxnard Union High School District board will consider a contract adjustment for painting work at the Adolfo Camarillo High School gym when it meets Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The adjustment, listed on the board's consent calendar, would expand the scope of work for Signature Painting, Inc. at the ACHS gym. The project is funded by Measure E, the $285 million bond voters approved on Nov. 5, 2024, to modernize district schools. The agenda does not list a dollar amount for the adjustment.

Signature Painting was recommended for the original exterior-painting contract for Camarillo High, Oxnard High and Pacifica High at the board's June 24 meeting, according to that meeting's agenda. The board had rejected all initial bids at its May 27 meeting and re-bid the work.

The board will also recognize outstanding students from Adolfo Camarillo High School during the open session. Student names were not listed in the published agenda.

$21 million in purchase orders

Trustees are set to approve $20,961,412.60 in purchase orders covering Aug. 3 through Sept. 7. No line-item breakdown was published. The board will also receive a staff report on the district's unaudited financial results for the 2025-2026 fiscal year and vote on certifying those figures.

Other agenda items

A public hearing on textbook and instructional-materials sufficiency under the Williams Act is scheduled, followed by a vote on a resolution affirming the district has enough materials for the 2026-2027 school year.

The board will consider a resolution proclaiming Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month and vote on approving the Class of 2026 summer graduates.

Trustees will also hear a staff presentation on the ACE Charter petition renewal, continuing a review that began at the Aug. 12 meeting.

Renewals of College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnership agreements with the Ventura County Community College District and a Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program agreement with UC Santa Barbara are also on the consent calendar.

In closed session, the board will discuss potential principal appointments at Hueneme High School and Rancho Campana High School. Bryan Martin, assistant superintendent of human resources, is listed as the district's labor negotiator for talks with the Oxnard Federation of Teachers and School Employees (OFTSE).

Superintendent Tom McCoy said on the district's Measure E page in August that the bond "will allow us to upgrade our schools to the highest standards without increasing the currently estimated tax rate over the expected ten year life of the Measure E program."

The open session begins at 6:30 p.m. at the district office, 1800 Solar Drive, Oxnard.
